Lovin' Leslie! (walk at home workout!)

As I have been in the process of losing weight this year, this has been one of my GO-TO workouts!

I know most of you, if you post a video, will probably post P90x or the 30 day shred or some high intensity workout! And I like to throw those in once in a while.
But the fact is, I am a busy mom--a NURSING busy mom--and I can't always fit in the time required by a lot of workouts. (and I am extremely uncoordinated and spend most of my workout time trying to replicate the moves, most of which I never catch on to! lol)

I love the Leslie Sansone walk at home videos (pictured above is the one I have). They keep your heartrate up, get you moving, and really throw in different moves to "surprise" your body and are EASY to follow! Each mile is a 12 minute segment. I have some mornings when the kids are still sleeping and I can fit in 2-3 miles of workout--I have some mornings I am lucky to get 12 minutes (1 mile) before they kids need me--but regardless, she emphasizes that if you have to come back to do more later, IT'S OKAY! (and I LOVE hearing her cheer, "YOU JUST DID A MILE!" It's good for the soul! lol)

I've gotten to where I don't LOVE to hear her instruction (she's kind of chatty--which makes me laugh, but also makes her a real person. LOVE that) So I will often put the video on, and then listen to a Podcast on my Ipod. I also appreciate that she wears clothes...and I am not trying to explain to the kids why there is a half naked person working out on our tv. And quite frankly, the kids LOVE to workout with me too--

It's a good workout (combined with an occasional super power workout), gets me moving, and most important, is really workable with ANY schedule!

2 years ago starting in January my goal was to exercise 30 times by Valentines Day and I did with with Leslie Sansone! I had two DVD that I rotated through. My husband even exercised with me! I can always feel a burn in my hips and arms. I love her!

I know--she's got some good stuff! I know people always hear "walk at home" and think, "oh wow...so you walk in place?" lol. Not really that at all! :)

I love adding in hand weights--man does it burn! But it's a great, do-able workout!

I love how it's broken up into miles like that! What a great thing for a mom of young kids!!

Great! I have one of her first in-home walking videos and you just helped motivate me to spend time with Leslie this week! It really is a great program and easy to do right at home - especially when the streets are covered with snow!
