Grandma's One Hour Rolls


One Hour Rolls
Combine:
¾ cup HOT water
1 tsp. salt
6 Tbs. melted butter
¼ c sugar
Cool to lukewarm.
Add:
2 Tbs. yeast dissolved in
¼ cup + 2 Tbs. lukewarm water
Add 1 egg
Beat well and add flour until easy to work (approximately 3 1/2 to 4 cups).
Knead. Roll out and cut. Brush with melted butter.
Cover and let rise until double (about 30-45 minutes).
Bake 425° for 12 minutes.

I'm going to make them right now... I'll pay attention. I'm not a measurer so this recipe hasn't ever bothered me. ;)

Approximately 3 1/2 to 4 cups. I just doubled the recipe (which I usually do) and used a little over 7 1/2 cups. It varies though... just do what feels right. :)

i had no idea there could be such a quick recipe for rolls. i am so bad at remembering to plan ahead (and pull the rhodes out of the freezer). these will be very handy. thanks!
